Coronavirus Update #1
With the arrival of the Coronavirus pandemic has come a host of challenges in navigating this unique moment in our lives. As elders and as a local church community, we want to be a means of support and encouragement as you walk by faith through the many questions and concerns that you may be facing. With news and information changing daily, we will do our best to keep you informed of things happening with the church.
On Friday Governor Edwards placed a restriction on public gatherings and limited the size of those gatherings to fewer than 250 people. That obviously has an impact on how we do some of our meetings, so we wanted to inform you of some immediate plans.
- This Sunday's Service (March 15th) will be an "Online Only" Service. We will not be holding services at the building, but we will be making the service content available to be viewed beginning at 10am on Sunday through our App and our website. Erik will lead us in worship and Pastor Keith will share a message related to the Coronavirus crisis.
- Alpha was schedued to begin on March 17th but has been postponed until further notice out of an abundance of caution.
- We will be evaluating our future Sunday meetings, as well as our small group meetings and various ministry meetings in the coming week and we will follow up with our plans.
- If you have a prayer request or a need that we can help with, please contact the church office at 504.482.6221.
As the Coronavirus becomes the latest voice that testifies that our world is fallen and is greatly in need of our Redeemer, let us be found faithfully praying for God's grace to be discovered by many and His Gospel to be the timely good news that we know that it is. In addition we are called to take up the mantle that "supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way." (1 Tim 2:1-2)
