Our 2018 Youth Winter Retreat will be January 5-7 (Friday evening through Sunday morning) at Seashore Assembly in Biloxi, MS. This retreat is for students grades 6-12 to connect with the Lord and one another through sessions, small group times, games, and personal devotions. The cost is $50. Retreat registration and theme are below.
"How's your walk?" That's a question Christians used to ask one another. It was a way of asking, "How's your relationship with the Lord? Are you growing in Christ?" It assumed two things: 1) that you paid attention to this, and 2) that believers talk about and help one another with this.
I don't hear that question anymore.
The point is not to recover old Christian lingo and clichés. The Apostle Paul teaches us to think in this way:
- "walk in a manner worthy of the calling" (Eph. 4:1)
- "you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do" (Eph. 4:17)
- "walk in love" (Eph. 5:1)
- "walk as children of the light" (Eph. 5:8)
- "look carefully how you walk, not as unwise but as wise" (Eph. 5:15)
There is something called the Christian walk. What does yours look like?
That's what we'll take the beginning of the new year to consider together. We'll spend some time to visit with God as we study Ephesians 4-5. Whether this is new to you or something you need to revisit, we look forward to sharing a January weekend with you on the beach as we ask one another, "How's your walk?"
